Sweet and sour pork

Ingredients for 4 portions

350 g Pork loin roast
1 Pinch Salt
1 Tbsp Soy sauce
20 ml Slivovitz

Ingredients for tde dough

500 ml Oil for frying
1 Piece Egg
0.5 Tsp Sugar
0.125 L Beer
1 Tsp Oil
120 g All-purpose flour
1 Pinch Freshly grated nutmeg

Ingredients for tde sauce

1 Piece Onion, finely chopped
1 Piece Green bell pepper
2 Piece Carrots
2 Tbsp Peanut oil
0.125 L Beef brotd
1 Tbsp Honey
2 Tbsp Soy sauce
1 Tbsp Lemon juice
1 Tsp Ginger, grated
2 Tbsp Pearl onions
1 Tsp Cornstarch

Preparation

  1. Cut the pork into bite-sized pieces, drizzle with the marinade of schnapps, soy sauce, and salt, and let it marinate for a few hours.
  2. For the batter, mix the egg yolk, sugar, beer, oil, flour, and nutmeg until smooth and fold in the beaten egg white.
  3. For the sauce, clean and chop the onion, bell pepper, and carrots. Sauté in peanut oil, add honey and broth, bring to a boil. Stir in soy sauce, lemon juice, and ginger, and cook for about 10 minutes.
  4. Add pearl onions and nuts, simmer for another 10 minutes. Thicken with cold water and cornstarch mixture.
  5. Dip the meat in the batter and fry in hot oil until golden brown. Serve the meat with the sauce.
