Roast beef according to grandma’s recipe

Ingredients for 4 portions

1 kg Pork Shoulder
1 Tbsp Lard
1 pc Onion (medium)
1 Pinch Salt
4 pc Garlic clove
1 Pinch Cumin
1 Dash Oil
1 Pinch Pepper

Preparation

  1. Season the meat with oil, salt, pepper, caraway seeds, and finely grated garlic on both sides and place in a roasting pan.
  2. Add some water (about 1 cm high) and 1 tablespoon of lard. Roughly chop the onion and add it as well. Roast in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 2 hours.
  3. Keep basting the meat with the juices to prevent it from drying out. Strain the juice before serving. Cut individual portions from the whole piece of meat.
  4. I recommend serving bread dumplings as a side dish. Serve with the gravy.
