It’s not just food; it’s an experience, a tradition, and a taste of home.

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs pork roast (shoulder or loin)
  • 4 cups chopped green cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Season the pork roast with salt, pepper, and minced garlic.
  3. In a large ovenproof pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the pork roast on all sides until browned.
  4. Add chicken broth to the pan and transfer to the preheated oven. Roast for about 1 hour and 30 minutes or until the pork is cooked through.
  5. While the pork is roasting, prepare the flour rolls. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and melted butter and stir until a dough forms.
  6. Divide the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. In a large skillet, sauté the chopped cabbage with a bit of olive oil until tender.
  8. Once the pork is done, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve the pork roast with flour rolls and sautéed cabbage on the side.
