Onion schnitzel

Ingredients for 4 portions

4 pcs Pork Schnitzel (150g each)
1 tbsp dried Marjoram
2 tbsp Oil
600 g Onions
2 tbsp Butter
100 ml White wine
1 tbsp Sour cream as needed
1 tsp Cornstarch
1 Pinch Pepper
1 Pinch Salt

Preparation

  1. Lightly pound the pork schnitzels, season with salt, pepper, and marjoram. Fry in hot oil for about 3 minutes. Remove the schnitzels and keep warm.
  2. Peel and thinly slice or dice the onions. Add to the remaining oil in the pan with butter and sauté for about 5 minutes. Add white wine and sour cream, and simmer over low heat for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Thicken the onions with the dissolved cornstarch, season with salt and pepper.
  4. Arrange the pork schnitzels with the onion sauce on plates and serve garnished with herbs, if desired.
