Preparation
- Peel the onion, dice it finely and roast in oil or lard. Remove from heat, stir in paprika powder and immediately pour in 3/4 l of water and heat again.
- Cut the pork shoulder into cubes of about 5 cm x 5 cm, add to the pot and season with salt, caraway and garlic.
- Squeeze out the sauerkraut, add it together with the peppercorns and simmer the dish covered over medium heat for about 1 hour. Wash, peel and finely grate a raw potato, add it to the dish and continue simmering for about 20 minutes.
